Why I LOVE Health Habits!
When I began my strength training at Health Habits, I had the ambiguous goal
of, “I don’t want to become a crooked old lady with osteoporosis,” in
addition to my short-term goal of preparing for a running relay race and
my 20th high school reunion.
Being 38 years old and never exercising regularly before, I had no idea how strength training would benefit every part of my life. I feel stronger and more stable in everything I do every day. I have especially noticed how it has improved my swimming, spinning, hiking, running and even my once-thought-before hopeless golf game.
I love the atmosphere Health Habits provides: open, encouraging and fun. I always look forward to my workouts and I am never bored. By the way, I felt great and danced the night away at my reunion!

After being inactive for so long…
Health Habits gave me the schedule flexibility and put the fun back in my workouts. The knowledgeable instructors put me on the right path.
Thanks, Health Habits!

Even though I've stayed active for years, these great ladies have motivated me beyond my greatest expectations! Thanks, Health Habits for making working out effective and fun.

I've always intended to get my legs ready for ski season, but I rarely
have. I can come up with lots of excuses why I haven’t. Then I joined
Health Habits and my legs have never been better. I'm ready for the slopes!
Last season I skied with a couple of true athletes, and it made me feel good
when
we got to the bottom. My two buddies were sweaty, steaming messes. Thanks H
H!

I have worked with Shauna since the Fall of 1997. I began training with her
when I had finished with physical therapy after a hip replacement operation.
I have known for a long time that I really do not have the discipline to do strength exercises on my own. Over the years I have bought several different pieces of exercise equipment and they ended up making expensive clothes racks.
I have both osteo and rheumatoid arthritis. I also have degenerative disc and joint disease. (How decrepit can you get?) The first hip surgery didn't work from the beginning. Eventually I had a second hip operation on the same side (they call it a ‘revision’). The recoveries from surgeries were slow processes. I gained weight and lost strength. It was all pretty discouraging.
I kept going to work out with Shauna. Her cheerful, non-judgmental patience over the years has kept me going even when I felt negative and discouraged about myself. During that time she has helped me develop a strengthening and stabilization program that so far has helped me to regain not only strength and energy but confidence. I am not kidding when I say that without Shauna I may be in a wheelchair now instead of hiking four or five miles a day with my dog and enjoying life.
Ten years ago I thought personal training was too “Hollywood” ot ‘5th Avenue” for words. I have learned that I love hiking around Missoula mountain trails. I know that I live to hike, not vice-versa. The strength, flexibility and stabilization work with Shauna makes that possible. I also believe that massage is more than just a “feel good” thing; it, too, is essential for health.

The secret to longevity in bodybuilding or any other sport is listening to
and taking care of your body. Strenuous workouts can leave the body tired,
sore and
full of oxidation from the tearing down of muscle tissue. It has always been
extremely important to me to combat oxidation through proper nutrition and
steady treatment of weekly deep tissue massage to help break up scar tissue
within the
muscle and also to help flush toxins created by oxidation out of the body.
I have always relied upon Shauna and Nancy at Health Habits to provide me with
the best possible care to help me achieve my goals as a professional bodybuilder,
and maintaining a vibrant and healthy lifestyle.

Shauna Rocks! She is very uplifting and can motivate and make you feel good about yourself and I really like her hair.

Until I found Shauna and Health Habits, my workouts weren't really very
beneficial. Shauna taught me the correct way to lift and how to increase my
cardio for more strength and energy. My goal has always been to get stronger
and I have
achieved that with my workouts at Health Habits. I feel I know so much more
about good nutrition and healthy living. Although I will probably never have
their
sense of commitment, I have the tools to live a healthier life. I have always
loved working out, but the atmosphere at Health Habits is fun and very encouraging,
so I get much more out of my time.
Thank you so much,

Shauna and Nancy of Health Habits are truly two of the greatest friends anyone could have. I started working out at Health Habits after my separation from my wife of 16 years. Working out with Nancy gave me a stress outlet. Nancy said when I first started that if you take care of your body the mind will follow. And it’s true. I feel better about myself and am more secure about my future. They make training fun and change things up so it’s never boring. And working out at Health Habits has produced results, and that’s what keeps me motivated to keep coming back.
Thanks Shauna and Nancy.

I thought I knew what working out was all about. Then I went to Health Habits
and they really elevated the effectiveness and results of my workout.

I feel awesome!!! I can run longer & harder and nothing hurts ('Well,
maybe my lungs'). Gardening is even more of a pleasure rather than a chore.
My hands are shaking and a “hit” of veins are popping out in my
biceps and forearms…hee, hee, hee. I feel like the incredible hulk. I
can flex and feel muscles in my back, legs, everywhere.
